“CIO-Connect” publish Jim Boots (Chevron) BPM article

Chevron use Nimbus Control to “help users define, govern and communicate business process information”. In their Winter Magazine CIO Magazine published an article by Jim Boots Senior BPM Advisor at Chevron. In the article Jim says “When you think about what ‘BPM’ means to your company, it helps to say “business process Management” and think about the words.”

“Basically, BPM needs to be about performance and real business benefits. However the concept is often hijacked as a technical construct…” Jim goes on to explain that whilst there’s generally a lot of focus on process automation, at Chevron the scope of BPM covers both manual and automated activities and has to address the different and overlapping needs of both technical and mainstream business people. The article names Nimbus Control as the software application Chevron use to “help users define, govern and communicate business process information”. To access the article on CIO-Connect’s web site you will need a subscription. However, below we provide an earlier and more detailed interview we conducted with Jim, which you can access as a PDF.
